Speaking

We need everyone (men, women and non-binary) to work together and remove barriers for women into leadership. This isn’t just about women now, but the girls - your daughters - that will follow.
Dr Amanda Sterling

I build awareness of the challenges women still experience on the path to leadership, and inspire action to support women’s careers.

My Signature Talks

Reclaiming your Leadership Power

A 1-hour interactive talk that gives your women practical tools to recognise and reclaim their power.

When traditional leadership norms don’t reflect women’s experiences, they’re pressured to prove their capability, confidence, and commitment in ways others aren’t. The question many ask: must we choose between authenticity and credibility?

In this interactive session I use research and stories to:

  • Explore research-based insights about privilege, power, and inclusion in leadership.
  • Help women in leadership roles (or aspiring to be) recognise, reclaim, and role-model their leadership in authentically powerful ways.
  • Connect with other women navigating similar challenges.

Who this is for:

This talk is designed for all women really – we can all be leaders. But works especially well for women in leadership roles, those on the pathways to being, early-career women considering their career options.

Leading Inclusion

A 1-hour interactive talk that builds awareness and inspires action across your whole organisation.

Most organisations know diverse leadership matters. But most people still struggle to understand the barriers that women face on the pathway into leadership, what actually works to support women’s careers, and the role they play in creating environments where everyone thrives.

In this interactive session I use research and stories so your people:

  • Understand why diverse leadership is critical for business performance.
  • Recognise the challenges women still face advancing into leadership roles and why they persist.
  • Learn what the Four Factors for Women ® reveals about what actually works to support women’s careers.
  • Identify the leadership capabilities your organisation needs to create genuinely inclusive teams.

Who this is for:

This talk is designed for a broad audience (think your all-hands meetings, employee resource groups, leadership conferences or team development days) to build awareness and inspire action around better support for women’s careers – especially into leadership roles.

Let's talk about bringing one of these talks to your workplace.

"Amanda is brilliant – her research background and report pulled in a big group and since the session we have had an overwhelming response with lots of our people, from all backgrounds wanting to continue the conversation. Everyone agreed that making positive moves as an organisation to address gender ratios is just one part and there’s more we can do that challenges and transforms us. Creating a safe environment where women leaders feel they can thrive is critical. Amanda’s delivery is inspiring, refreshing and thought provoking."
